Have The Best Camping Trip Ever

August 7, 2019 / WgeeLinks / 0 Comments

Pitching a tent in the middle of the wilderness certainly sounds exciting, but it can go badly pretty quickly if you don’t know what you are doing. Keep reading to find insights and advice for planning a successful camping trip.

A great item to put in your camping backpack when going in the back country is a Ziploc bag filled with dryer lint. There is no better fire starting material than dryer lint. It will hold a spark and get your fire going quickly and efficiently. Dryer lint takes up almost no space in your pack and is very light weight.

To increase your sleeping experience while camping, bring a pad along that you can place under your sleeping bag. This pad acts as a barrier between you and the hard ground where twigs and tree knots may cause strange sleeping conditions. If a pad isn’t handy, bring a few extra blankets that you can fold over on themselves to create some cushion.

When it comes to food, bring only what you need on a camping trip. Extra food out in the wilderness is a calling card for wild animals to come visiting your campground. If you do find that you have additional food, tie it up in cloth and handg it as high as you can in a tree away from your immediate campground. This will help keep you from unwanted animal introductions.

Particularly, if you have children, you need to consider what to do if you have inclement weather one day. Gather together a few supplies to have on hand in case you need to stay in your tent. Bring a board game, play doh and art supplies. Don’t let your family members touch these items until it rains so that they don’t lose their appeal.

If you’d like to prevent mosquito bites, but want to avoid using harsh chemicals, use an orange peel instead. Rub the orange peel over exposed areas of the skin, such as the neck, arms, face and legs to naturally repel mosquitoes. Not only will the orange peels feel better on your skin than traditional repelling chemicals, but they will smell better, too!

When planning for your camping trip, don’t forget to pack the sunscreen. Just because you are not on the beach doesn’t mean that you don’t need protection from the sun’s burning rays. A sport sunscreen can be a smart choice if you will be doing strenuous physical activities during your trip.

Review the medical coverage that you have. Leaving your state may affect your policy. This comes into effect, more so, when you are traveling out of the country. Make sure you have prepared yourself, just in case of an accident.

Don’t wait until nightfall to start your camp site. When traveling in an RV, locate a safe parking area. When using a tent, choose a dry flat location. Doing this before night comes around will let you become accustomed to your surroundings. You will have an easier time seeing the task a hand, preventing frustration from setting in.

The more organized you are, the better your camping trip will be. There are helpful tips shared in this article that can help make your next camping adventure a great one. For more information on click here: http://www.cheaptraveldeals.us
